The 2012 Ravellenics, Day 2
Team Suck Less and Team Doom 2012 share a determined (and wacky) asset in the form of the talented and creatively unpredictable Sandi Wiseheart. Sandi, a first-time Ravellenaut, has worked her way up through the regionals, bursting forth onto the international scene a few years back with her off-the-wall take on knitting techniques as they relate to bra sizes.
Her event this year is the Sweater Triathalon, where she is using Indigodragonfly’s MCN worsted to good effect in Sandrilene, a classic yet twisted cardi from Jesh. Let’s focus in on her accomplishments in the arena yesterday, July 28th.

Here, we have a shot of the judges table, where Judge Zoe and her brother Judge Dusty are studying the day’s work up close.
Fred, those two judges look like tough cookies. Do you think Sandi has what it’s got to gain points from the furfolk?
Oh, wait! The ruling is in.
Ah, yes indeed. Judge Dusty’s decision is written all over his face. Good try, Sandi girl; let’s hope that in the coming days she can really focus and pull out all the stops for these very demanding judges.
Before we go, one last close-up of that gorgeous detail work at the sweater hem.
Look at that great form, Fred! I don’t think Sandi’s out of the game yet. There’s still time for this dark horse to sweep the competition.

Stunning photos from the National Geographic Traveller’s Photo Contest. I find beauty, in all its forms, to be a balm for the heart. May you find something here that brings light to you this day.

Neatly blogged! Thanks for the {grin} and I can’t wait to see the finished knitwear. Good luck on your Ravellenic pursuits! (Thanks also for the link to the Nat. Geographic photos!)
yes – thank you for the photos! they did indeed bring a smile to my face!
I’m not convinced that Judge Dusty hasn’t taken lessons from the Russian ice skating judges…… lovely sweater, I had the pleasure of seeing it “up close and personal” on Jesh
Congratulations on (what I think is a ) strong start! Bravo!!!
Your sweater is looking good. I hope you are able to pull out all the stops to finish in time!
Great post. I’m cheering for Sandi the Ravellenaut.
